Stridulations for the Good Luck Feast is a suite of percussion compositions that could be considered a collaborative game, played not by opponents to win or lose, but by a team of individuals whose primary challenge is collective improvisation. The object of Stridulations is the formation of a self-governing ensemble acting as one 'organism' that produces unique arrangements each performance. Contains 13 mini scores in a deluxe folder pack designed for percussion ensembles, schools, workshops, including music therapy.
"I am very excited about publishing Stridulations for the Good Luck Feast in score form. These rhythmic compositions function like a game with simple rules and requires some improvisation. This musical game was originally intended for percussionists. Now, anyone can participate. These percussion miniatures can be used for bands who need to bond rhythmically or a group of friends or family that want to connect musically. Because this suite of mini-scores requires creative interaction we are asking anyone interested to contribute a YouTube video or recording of their results using these scores. Please notify me when you upload a link to riddim@billymartin.net. We will post our favorite videos and sound recordings and hopefully release a diverse compilation of the most interesting versions on a future Amulet Records release. I hope you get a lot out of Stridulations."
